Jasongs/Jayway/Serenade: This Just In

Serenade the quartet made their debut at the South Shore Grill in Hewitt, NJ. A good time was had by all. Great turnout, dancing and ecclectic music made for a fantastic show. Thanks to everyone for your support!

 

Serenade is striking out as a four piece band. Elaine & Jason have always been performing as a duet either acoustically or with backing tracks. They've also had success with Gary Alt as an acoustic trio. They figured it was time to give the full band a try.

Their motto has and always will be to play music that is fun and danceable. Playing the most popular classics guarantees that. Expect to hear Beatles, CCR, Carole King, Robert Palmer, Steely Dan, Sting, U2 and a host of others.

Their debut will be June 5, 2010 at South Shore Grill in West Milford (Hewitt), NJ.

Beef Wellington & the Mad Cows' (a collaboration of Jason & Gary Alt) is just minutes away from releasing their new CD, "Masticated Bovine".

It's a cheeky, yet highly addictive little record with plenty of variety and well crafted songs. It just might remind you of another cheeky band from the 60's. (The album cover will give a clue as to who that might be.)

Great show. Nice establishment. Lots of support from our peepsies. Thanks everyone for your devoted attendance! Some great dancing happening before our eyes too.

The band laid to rest some songs, never to grace our lips & fingers again. Y'all were witnesses to the last performances of such. Our next gig will have some fresh material. And we promise that the usual butchering will take place. Maybe with some embellishments that even we wouldn't expect. ;)

On the whole, a grand time was had by all.

September 18, 2009, Thunderhouse will be playing their usual fair at Arthur's St. Moritz by Lake Mohawk in Sparta, NJ. Nice dining atmosphere with a dance floor and plenty of room for the band. Phew! It was getting tight for a while there. This will be our last gig with the old songs. We will be working up a crop of new ones so as not to bore everybody. When they're ready we'll put out the call. Until then, come on out and share the love. And have a cocktail. The restaurantiers like that and they ask us back if the crowd is generous. Whoopie!

 

Serenade's first gig at Ruppert's on July 31, 2009 was a smashing success.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us. There were friends from all over NJ. Even some from a private party in the next room came out to dance. A good time was had by all.

And it looks like we'll be coming back sometime in September. We'll give everyone a holler when the date is confirmed.

And in the back yard...

The Bohrisch Backyard Bash was a rousing success. We played 2 sets and managed to dodge the rain. Everything was packed up and ready to go when the clouds opened up and our moniker became a reality.

The audience responded quite favorably and expressed appreciation for the good time they were having. One of the highlights for me was seeing some of the old-timers dancing to "99 Red Balloons" (Goldfinger version). I got a charge out of that.

We must do that again sometime.

Music video for "Geology Rocks" is up and running. Check it out...

"Geology Rocks" will soon be brought to the little screen in a flashy new music video. Great new effects and images will make this one of the best yet. As soon as it's up and running there will be a press release.                                     

We are officially called "Thunderhouse".

Band members are Jason Arvanites (guitar/keys/vox)Elaine Arvanites, (vox/keys) Gary Alt (lead guitar/keys/backing vox) Derek Alt (drums/keys) and Larry Hayden (bass/vox).

We are currently adding songs to our repertoire. It's a pretty good mix. Very soon we'll have full sets and, when we do, we'll put the word out that we are ready to rock like rollin' thundah!

We are in the throes of forming a new 5 piece band.

We will perform originals and covers. There may be a few surprises under those covers too.

3 out of the 5 are former members of the band "Rain". So, the same great sound plus 2.

When we're ready to hit the road we'll give you a holler.

Well, the gig at Fiesta Cancun on May 17, 2008 was my last.
For personal reasons, I am officially no longer a member of "Rain".
It's been fun but it's time to come in out of the rain. Thanks everybody for coming to hear us!

Without you we would have only been playing to Mayan god reliefs. And they're deaf as a stone.

I received a call from Suburban Trends. A local north Jersey paper which features spotlights on local musicians and/or undiscovered talent.

The interview took place on January 23, 2008. It went well and should prove to be useful in advertising our services.

Even the pub owner liked us. He wants us back for future gigs. I'll post the date when we know for sure.

We finally got a real gig. January 19, 2008 at T-Bones Sports Pub in Congers, NY.
They're gonna push aside the pool tables and everythang!
It should prove to be a jolly good time for all.
(Hope they have enough chicken wire.)
